Fairfield-ffldbike

Members and supporters of the Fairfield Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan Advisory Committee and the Fairfield Bike Walk Coalition celebrated four years of collaboration and success at the Horseshoe Café in Southport on June 11. This location was chosen because the new Pequot Avenue Bike Route will pass through Southport Village and connect to the Mill Plain Bike Route via Pequot Avenue to Bronson, Sturges and Unquowa roads. The group also celebrated the purchase of four Dero bicycle racks to be installed this summer in downtown Fairfield, the Board of Selectmen’s May 21st approval of a standing Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee and the Town Plan & Zoning Commission’s June 10 approval of the committee’s bicycle and pedestrian amendments to the zoning regulations.
