Masked, armed man robs Fairfield bank

On Sunday, June 8, at approximately 2:59 p.m., Fairfield Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at TD Bank, 1643 Post Road.

Police said the suspect entered the rear door of the bank at 2:59 (bank closes at 3 p.m.), confronted the manager who was near the back door, pulled out a pistol and ordered her to the teller area. He placed a black bag on the counter and ordered the teller to load it with $100 bills. The teller placed an undetermined amount of cash in the bag and the suspect fled out the back door.

No vehicle was observed.

The suspect was described as a black male, young looking, in his late teens through 20s, approximately 5-foot-10 with a slender build. He was wearing a dark ski mask, a green hoodie, long dark (likely blue) pajama like pants with the Polo logo all over them and purple or grey sneakers with a white stripe. He was armed with a dark colored semi-automatic pistol.
