Remembering the fallen, and celebrating Fairfield

The streets of downtown Fairfield teemed with life and camaraderie this Memorial Day, coming together in memory of the men and women who died in service to the country.

The crowd erupted in applause as military vehicles led the parade. By the end, spectators showed affection to the Cub Scouts and Brownies in the procession.

Floats towered over the street, threatening to bang into the traffic lights.

In additon to the annual salute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the country, the parade served as part of the celebration of the 375th birthday of Fairfield.

Whether it be the ever-growing number of animals mascots or vintage cars, there was plenty to enjoy in downtown Fairfield Monday.
