Responds to letter about nurse practitioners

To the Editor:

Boy, Stan Muzyk sure is a busy/annoying commentator, writing one editorial and copying it to all local papers — oh the simplicity of the computer age! As I responded in another publication, Stan shouldn’t worry about me having to deal with the reality of nurse practitioners practicing on their own because I would never shop in a grocery store that doubles as a walk in clinic. I think that’s the most disgusting/unsanitary thing I’ve ever heard of; sick people walking around, touching produce and other products, coughing, sneezing while waiting to see a nurse practitioner — yuck. Special on influenza virus, aisle 2!!

As for Malloy signing off on allowing NPs to practice without an MD present, he also signed off on the biggest tax increase in state history which has stagnated any possible economic recovery, so his judgment stinks.
