Connecticut Boat Club (CBC), the state’s leading all-girls rowing team, had tremendous success at the U.S. Rowing Northeast Junior District Championships this past weekend which featured more than 395 entries from 35 rowing clubs.
As a team, CBC earned five gold medals, a silver medal, and two bronze medals, placing in 7-of-8 events that it entered.
Gold medal: Varsity 4+: Courtney Lincoln, Jessica Ferrante, Isabel Fitter, Meg Galloway, Katie De Haas
Gold medal: Novice 4: Amanda Wilpon, Emily von Jena, Lily Davis (Darien), Mikayla Kehoe, Megan Palazzo
Gold medal: Second Varsity 8+:  Kassy Boliakis, Claire Kelley, Erin Rigney, Natalie Puente, Julia Cornacchia, Kelly Caione, Natalie Yannopoulos, Haley Bower
Gold medal: Third Varsity 8+: Cali Nathanson, Andy Bernhardt, Lauren Squitieri, Madeline Mauboussin, Claire Lincoln, Megan Kynast, Katie Bower, Kat Eddie, Ava Colarusso
Gold medal: Novice 8+: Amanda Wilpon, Emily Von Jena, Megan Palazzo, Mikayla Kehoe, Lily Davis, Taylor Lust, Helen Watson, Coleen Visnic, Taylor Arnold

In addition to the big wins, CBC is also announcing open registration for their summer rowing program for experienced and new rowers.
The schedule will be the following:
June 23-July 3 (Monday-Friday except July 4th)
July 7- July 18 (Monday – Friday)
July 21 – Aug. 1 (Monday-Friday)
August 4 – Aug. 15 (Monday-Friday)
Experienced rowers will have camp from 7:30-9:30 a.m. and will focus on smaller boats: Doubles, Pairs and Fours.  Technique, small boat work and fitness will be emphasized.
There will also be a Learn to Row program from 10 a.m.  to 12 p.m. running the same weeks where athletes will learn to row in larger boats (8+).
All interested students are welcome, but the 12 spots per session are filling up quickly so  email Coach Liz Trond at [email protected] to sign up. The cost is $550 per two week session.
