Jesuits fall to Lawmen, 5-0, in SCC match-up

Fairfield Prep lost a 5-0 decision to Jonathan Law in a match-up of SCC rivals in Milford on Saturday.
Coach Rudy Mauritz’ Jesuits dipped to 14-3. Law is now 15-2.
Kevin Johnson upped his mark to 7-0 on the season, as the right hander scattered three hits, didn’t walk a batter, and struck out six.
“….He (Johnson) is definitely the best pitcher we’ve seen this year,” Mauritz said. “Law is 15-2 and Johnson is 7-0 for a reason. We were in the game 1-0 in the fourth. I expect more from my guys, and my guys expect more.”
Dean Lockery singled for Prep with one out in the first inning, before Johnson set down 13 batters in a row.
Jake Berry had a two-out hit in the fifth inning and Kevin Stone had a hit with one out in the seventh.
Law’s Jake Rouse singled and scored on Dillon Rocha’s two-out hit in the bottom of the first off John Carroll.
The Lawmen added four more runs in the fourth inning  with Rouse doubling in a pair.
