Transcend Mind Body and Counseling Center just celebrated its second anniversary serving the Fairfield County region, and continues helping people achieve happiness through mind, body and breath.

The center offers a variety of services different than typical counseling center offerings.

Transcend, founded by Loredana Trandu and her husband Christopher Constand, offers counseling practices in an integrative approach to mental health. Trandu, a licensed clinician, a certified fitness trainer and yoga guide incorporates all of these practices to help her clients.

“At Transcend, we believe that all that we need to be joyful is inside ourselves,” said Trandu. “Through psychotherapy, fitness and meditation, we provide guidance on where to look and how to most efficiently use your energy in order to fulfill your goals. Most importantly, Transcend clients learn how to attain inner peace and real happiness using only their minds, bodies and breath.”

Trandu is also the director of the Wellness Program at Westport Family Counseling. Loredana holds degrees from both Sacred Heart University and Fairfield University.

Transcend offers talk therapy in conjunction with mindful fitness, a mindfulness based training method that helps her clients to connect with the physical sensations in their bodies during the workout.

By training this way, people start reconnecting with and learning to trust their inner wisdom. The goal is to feel empowered and take charge of your well being. Trandu also used meditation to increase the awareness and self-acceptance necessary for her clients to reach their full potential. Transcend’s offices are peaceful and mindful and in addition to a typical counseling center set-up, it has a meditation and fitness studio.

Transcend clinicians and trainers aim to increase self-esteem, self-discipline, to balance fluctuating moods, decrease anxiety and depression symptoms. They also help individuals with eating disorders, body image issues, cognitive disorders, and stress related symptoms.
