Rallies planned before budget vote

Fairfield Republicans, supporters of school budget to gather at Warde

At least two groups are calling on residents to attend Monday night’s budget vote. The Representative Town Meeting will vote at Fairfield Warde High School, 755 Melville Ave.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

Fairfield PTAs and community members will rally to support passage of the 2014-15 Fairfield education budget with no further cuts.

Republicans, in an email, announced that they plan to make “some well thought out reductions to the proposed increase of this year’s budget over last year’s budget,” according to an announcement from the Republican Town Committee.

“Unfortunately some people have sent out misinformation with regard to the proposed budget,” the message continues. “They are staging a planned protest to prevent” any reduction.

The RTC asked its supporters to attend.
