Tree festival beneficiaries receive check

Proceeds from the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival’s 2013 December event raised $268,161 total for The Kennedy Center’s Artist Cooperative Program.

Martin D. Schwartz, chief executive officer and president of The Kennedy Center, along with event chairs Kathy Flynn, Dottie Kellersman and Laurie Zollinger, accepted the check at the new Artist Cooperative site.

“We were proud to work with The Kennedy Center and honor them by raising funds to support this new program, which is a wonderful addition to the arts community,” said Moira Rachel, president of the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival. “We wish them much success and look forward to seeing the Artist Cooperative thrive.”

The recipient of the festival’s quilt raffle proceeds, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Fairfield, raised a total of $5,314.
