Wildcats Youth Football League's Open Houses

Fairfield Wildcats Youth Football League has opened registration for its fall 2014 tackle football (grades 3-8), flag football (grades K-4) and cheerleading program (K-8).
The Fairfield County Football League (FCFL) program is a grade-based system that allows players to participate with their friends/peers against the towns representative of those schools our children will grow up competing against through High School (Darien, Fairfield, New Canaan, Weston, Westport, Wilton and Ridgefield).
In addition, Fairfield Wildcats are part of the one and only league in the state of Connecticut that has fully adopted USA Football’s Head’s Up Program.
That means not only are the Fairfield Wildcats Heads-Up compliant – but each and every team they play against are as well. This is the only way this important program can be fully adopted to achieve maximum effectiveness.
The League will be hosting two Open Houses — Thursday, May 8 at Fairfield Woods Middle School from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and Monday, May 19 at Tomlinson Middle School from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
All are welcome (past and prospective participants) based upon individual scheduling availability, not on respective school district.
The sessions will feature general information on Wildcats tackle, flag and cheer programs that will be facilitated by coaches, league officials, Wildcats players and parent volunteers.
A  safety discussion will be moderated to explain the Fairfield County Football League  policies in place to protect players, including an Equipment Showcase  that will allow parents/players to see how they would be fitted for play — and the overall role equipment has in player safety on the field.
The tradition of the Fairfield Wildcats is to provide a program for kids of the community that is fun and will inspire youth members through the following objectives: bring Fairfield youth members together through a common interest in athletic competition; provide supervised, organized, and safety-oriented learning environments; teach the fundamentals of football; collaborate closely with the Fairfield HS programs; provide the opportunity to practice and play free from pressures to win at all costs; use only those coaches and volunteers whose goals support these objectives.
