Local organization joins Giving Library

Operation Hope of Fairfield is now a member of the Giving Library, which offers an online video archive and searchable library that connects donors to nonprofits.

Developed by the Laura and John Arnold Foundation (LJAF), the Giving Library features nonprofits that are involved in a wide range of causes, including education, environmental preservation, humanitarian efforts and health services.

Individuals may visit the Giving Library website (givinglibrary.org) to discover, compare and engage with hundreds of charitable organizations for both national and local causes. They are able listen to the leaders of those nonprofits discuss their mission, accomplishments and challenges, and describe the type of support that is needed and why.

Operation Hope is the first local nonprofit to be evaluated and accepted by the LJAF.

“We are honored to be included in the Giving Library and hope those interested will take this opportunity to learn more about the work we do and why it is so important to help us continue,” said Carla Miklos, executive director, at Operation Hope of Fairfield.

Operation Hope is featured on the Giving Library with information and a video in which Miklos discusses why the organization was created, what makes it effective and Operation Hope’s positive impact on the local community.

“We invite you to enter the Giving Library and view our video,” said Miklos, noting that sharing with Facebook friends from the Giving Library website automatically donates $5 to Operation Hope.
