The Fairfield Warde boys tennis team defeated St. Joseph of Trumbull, 7-0, on Friday.
Winning at doubles play for the Mustangs were Danny Pavoni and Jack Mappa at No. 1 and Geoff Gaulger at second doubles.
Ted Berkowitz, Jack Johnson, Kevin Mercado, Henry Johnson, and Brian Gaugler swept singles.
Warde girls tennis
Warde scored a 6-1 victory over St. Joseph of Trumbull on Friday.
Emily Simmonds (6-2, 6-1), Jenny Schneider (6-1, 6-0), Hannah Greenhall (6-0, 6-2) won at singles, while Emily Schmerzler dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision.
Leading at doubles were Sarah Griffith and Megan Hines (6-0, 6-0), Mary Ball and Ashley Aufiero (6-0, 6-0) and Darci Byington and Liz Gallucci (6-0, 6-1).
Ludlowe baseball
Ludlowe defeated Hamden High, 2-0, in a non-league game on Thursday. Kevin Hickey pitched a two-hitter for the Falcons, striking out seven batters.
Dave Pierpont singled home a run in the first inning and bunts from Billy Moeder and Ray Condon led to Nick Warkentin scoring in the third.
Tom Ryan had a triple and two singles to lead a 15-hit attack when Ludlowe opened its season with a 10-4 victory over visiting Newtown High on Wednesday.
Ryan and Pierpont drove in two runs each and Hickey and Moeder had two hits apiece.
Steve Zadravec pitched into the sixth to get the win, with Chris Huzil and Pierpont coming on in relief.
Warde boys lacrosse
Brendan King and Kyle Scheetz scored three goals each when Warde defeated visiting Stamford High, 9-3, on Wednesday.
Kevin Robinson had two goals and an assist and Mike Adams a goal and an assist. Jason Nerreau had five saves and King had two assists.
Warde girls lacrosse
Hannah Dougherty found the net three times and Warde defeated host Danbury High, 6-3, on Wednesday.
Sarah Reilly had two goals and an assist for the Mustangs, who took a 3-0 lead into the second half.
Meredith Nerreau had a goal and Grace Orben an assist. Rebekah Snitkoff had eight saves.
Notre Dame softball
MacKenzie Dobbins drove in four runs and Notre Dame defeated Bridgeport Central, 11-5, in its season opener on Wednesday.
Madison Letizia struck out eight to earn the win in the pitching circle . Dobbins had four of Notre Dame’s 15 hits, including a triple. Becky Stefanatos had three hits and three RBIs.
Warde softball
Warde opened its season with a 6-5 road win over Bunnell of Stratford on Wednesday. Kenzie Burns had three hits, scored two runs and had an RBI. Emma Houghton and Brianna West both tripled
