Local woman named program specialist of Women's Business Development Council

Fairfield resident Ashley McGuffie has been named the new program specialist for the Naugatuck Valley office of the Women’s Business Development Council.

Her position aims to help organize and deliver financial and business education for women.

McGuffie received her bachelor’s degree in human services, with a minor in women’s studies, from the University of Connecticut. She later earned a master’s of arts in women’s studies form Southern Connecticut University.

“I’m passionate about serving women and the community and helping to empower women,” she said. “My work for the WBDC enables me to continue my dedication to spreading awareness on human rights and women’s issues throughout the community.”
