Fairfield man arrested again for sexual assault

Robert Purcell of Fairfield surrendered himself at the Stratford Police Department on Feb. 3, as a result of a warrant charging him with second-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault indecent exposure and risk of injury to a minor. Purcell posted a $100,000 bond and was released.

The incidents, which are alleged to have occurred in Stratford, took place at a local funeral home and a private residence.

The arrest stems from an investigation initiated by the Wallingford Police Department. Detectives from the Stratford Police Department worked in conjunction with investigators from Wallingford and Fairfield.
