Fairfield Police have released a photograph of a suspect in a shoplifting at Bob’s Store, 889 Post Road, who allegedly threatened to shoot a security guard Saturday, Jan. 18, around 6:10 p.m.

The man in the surveillance photo and a woman rode bicycles tot he store and proceeded to steal $180 worth of merchandise, police said.

When confronted in the parking lot by an employee, the man began fighting and threatened to shoot, police said.

Both suspects fled, launching a police search in the South Benson Road area.

Lourdes Rodriguez-Deets, 52, of Norwalk, was arrested after a brief chase with her riding a bike during part of it. She was caught near Clinton Street.

Rodriguez-Deets was charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. Bond was $240 for court Jan 29.

Her accomplice, identified only as “Tony,” escaped. He is described as elderly, with a white beard, and wearing a camouflage jacket.

Fairfield police said the man is known to live in or frequent the area of Kossuth Street in Bridgeport.

The Fairfield Police Detective Bureau asks anyone who can identify the man to call 203-254-4840, or send an  Anonymous Text a Tip to 274637.
