Falcons earn five individual titles at Morgan Duals

The Fairfield Ludlowe wrestling team had five champions at the Rodney Smith Classic Wrestling Tournament in East Windsor on Saturday.
Coach Nick Garoffolo’s Falcons took second, three points behind champions Bellow Falls of Vermont. Fourteen teams competed.
Ludlowe’s champions were George Wales at 108 pounds, Eric Kirchgasser at 115, Ben Batulanon at 122, Marcus Sherrod at 128 and Bobby Clark at 132.
This the first time Ludlowe has had five champions in a tournament.
Ludlowe had two other place winners — Chase Lind  was third at 145 and Austin Buongiorno was third at 170.
The Falcons were behind Bellow Falls, 161-147, before winning five straight moved Ludlowe nine points ahead. But, Bellow Falls had two finalists left and they won both by pin clinching the tournament win 173-170.
