Winter workout program for Junior Babe Ruth

To maintain its commitment to the baseball players of Fairfield, Fairfield Junior Babe Ruth has established a Winter Workout program in preparation for the upcoming pring season.
The 8-week Friday-evening clinic will start on Jan. 10 (7-8 p.m.) and run through Feb. 28. Former Major Leaguer Mike Porzio and his staff will work with players on fundamentals and skills, so that they may be at the top of their games when the spring rolls around.
At the same time, the league will use the clinic to begin evaluating players for the Xtreme Babe Ruth program, a new tradition that allows top players to develop their skills and compete against the best players in Fairfield County throughout the spring season.
The Clubhouse will remain involved with Xtreme program with professional coaching for 13-, 14- and 15-year-old teams.
The cost of the clinic is $95 per athlete, with a maximum of 16 players. Players must also sign up for the 2014 spring Junior Babe Ruth season at the same time they enroll in the clinic.
