Prep swims past Lyman Hall in season opener

The Fairfield Prep swimming and diving team opened its season with a 99-59 victory over Lyman Hall of Wallingford on Dec. 18.
Coach Rick Hutchinson’s Jesuits swept the relays, with Guido Balderrama, Brandon Cole, Jake Hoin and Stuart Stritzel winning the 200 medley relay in 1:55.23.
Bryce Keblish, Balderrama, Hoin and Cole were best in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:43.27.
Keblish, Nick Wargo, Balderrama and Connor Davis touched the wall first in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:46.69.
Robert McCrory was the meets top diver, scoring a 204.80.
Cole (2:16.90) in the 200 IM and (55.14) in the 100 freestyle posted two individual wins.
Nick Wargo was another double winner, taking the 50 freestyle (24.48) and the 400 freestyle (4:19.10).
Kebish was first in the 200 freestyle (1:59.61), Balderrama in the 100 butterfly (1:01.43), Davis in the 100 backstroke (1:04.05) and Stritzel in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.38).
