Fairfield’s Assistant Director of Public Works Ed Boman, First Selectman Michael Tetreau and Skyview Ventures President Andy Karetsky sign contracts for the solar facilities that will be installed on four town properties.

The town of Fairfield has selected Skyview Ventures to install solar facilities at the Fairfield Theatre Company, Parks & Recreation Department, Operation Hope and the fire department headquarters on Reef Road.

The town will purchase energy from Skyview Ventures at a rate lower than the amount it is currently paying. It is projected this project will save the town $400,000 over the next 20 years.

Installations will begin in the coming weeks, and three of the four projects should be completed by January.

“I am proud Fairfield is taking the lead as a progressive town that embraces clean energy and green initiatives which are so vital to the well-being of our residents and our community,” First Selectman Michael Tetreau said. “I am proud to support local green efforts and I encourage more residents to help make Fairfield a greener and more sustainable place to live.”

“We have enjoyed developing these projects in conjunction with the Town of Fairfield,” said Andy Karetsky, president of Skyview Ventures. “We look forward to working on additional projects with the town.”

“Clean energy and conservation are paramount issues to the town of Fairfield, which has championed and supported dozens of initiatives to promote environmental health while cutting municipal spending,” said Ed Boman, assistant director of Fairfield’s Department of Public Works, who spearheaded the project.

Skyview Ventures develops renewable energy projects. It has successfully completed projects in Puerto Rico, Michigan, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New Mexico and Connecticut. Skyview’s clientele includes municipalities, national nonprofits and corporate entities.
