Approximately 200 guests attended Brewfest, a benefit for FSW hosted by Dragone Classic Motorcars that featured vintage cars, craft beer, food, music and dancing.

Sponsors, donors and guests celebrated the agency’s work and listened to a brief program moderated by Bob Ley, ESPN’s host of Outside the Lines.  The program featured FSW clients and staff who shared their successes and concluded with a “fund a need” auction.

Later in the evening, the crowd danced to the sounds of Eight to the Bar and relaxed in a luxury cigar and whiskey bar, taking time throughout the evening to browse an exhibition of vintage cars and listen to George Dragone’s stories about each vehicle.

A team of volunteers and board members, led by Karen Bennewitz, Shelly and Drummond Bell, and Steve Finnegan, created a night that help raise more than $125,000 to support FSW, one of Connecticut’s largest providers of comprehensive social services in the greater Bridgeport area.

Each year FSW helps more than 11,000 individuals and families living at or below poverty level by providing them with flexible and innovative programs that restore personal capability, provide work skills training and create pathways to economic self-sufficiency.
