Re-elect leaders who will take care of community

To the Editor:

As a Fairfield resident concerned about balancing tax increases and the need for top-quality education, I believe we need to re-elect leaders who will work toward a long-range plan using creativity, high morals and the ambition to learn the facts and provide transparency and accountability.

We need leaders who have an issues-oriented nonpartisan approach to problem solving, and who actively listen and provide guidance to the community.

Amy Mezoff (District 4), Ellen Jacob and Carol Pontrelli (District 9) and Kathy Braun (District 8) are all RTM incumbent candidates who have repeatedly demonstrated these qualities over their current terms.

They are concerned about securing a high quality, equitable education for all students, but understand that being fiscally responsible is a major part of the implementation. These RTM candidates have been steadfast in their belief that public safety is paramount in all areas of our community. They have been strong advocates for conservation and preservation of town character, neighborhoods and historic institutions such as Pequot Library.

Their dedication and commitment to addressing concerns and projects in the community, and their willingness to separate from partisan politics sets them apart from the other candidates.

Please come out to vote on Nov. 5.
