Albin’s experience, leadership makes her ideal BOF candidate

To the Editor:

There is a great deal of comfort in supporting candidates with good name recognition, years of valuable experience and a strong record of leadership. That is why Catherine Albin, who filled a vacancy on the Board of Finance, received the party endorsement from the Democrats to be a candidate for the BOF four year term.

As you may recall, Catherine served two terms on the Board of Education, and was elected chairman twice, having previously served on the BOE and as Registrar of Voters in Hebron.

During her 12 years, a second high school was reopened, numerous school renovation and new construction projects were proposed and completed and the program needs of over 10,000 were addressed. Her experience also includes a stint on the Board of Health, involvement in contract negotiations, the hiring of the last two superintendents and the preparation of education budgets.

Even though the education budget was greater than the town side, Catherine made it her business to understand the larger picture. She also made an effort to meet with all of the town officials involved in the process to make it all work for the good of all citizens of Fairfield.

As if that weren’t enough to manage, she also initiated and worked on a Town Green project to enhance the beauty and continuity of Burr Gardens.

Please join me in supporting Catherine Albin, an endorsed candidate for the Board of Finance, who will continue to watch over the fiscal well being of our town.
