Believes Donna Karnal is best candidate for school board

To the Editor:

At this very important time, we must keep the faith our faith in our local elections and mark Nov. 5 on our calendars and get to the polls.

It may frustrate us to hear about the continuous kerfuffle in D.C., but this should be a reminder to residents in Fairfield that our vote is our voice. “Silence is not an option when it comes to our kids”, says BOE candidate Donna Karnal.

Donna’s intent is to press forward with reasonable force to maintain the focus on our schools in order to keep our students our priority. “It should be an accelerated goal to help each and every student achieve success, and support their transition year after year so they feel confident and prepared to write their next chapter and to mold their futures.”

Donna is an executive who has been trained to be a skillful listener. Donna Karnal’s decision to run for the open seat to is a result of her hearing the needs and the gaps families expressed and our experiencing first hand.

Many of her friends, colleagues and neighbors recognize her skill and talent can extend to tackling the issues as a business leader, a conflict resolution professional, and as a mother without a political agenda. Donna considers each neighborhood and school the most important mosaic, which is the make-up of Fairfield, the town she and her family take great pride in calling home.

Our town has changed in the past 25 years. Some would agree for the better, and some may agree to disagree. One universal agreement is that our schools reflect a seminal achievement and make up a vital component of what makes up our greatness. They serve as a best practice model year after year, and testament of why many residents were attracted to Fairfield, and many wish to enter this community. Our schools, our students, our teachers, our principals and administration contribute to the signature achievements we can point to.

Donna Karnal is ready and as prepared as any candidate to run for the BOE seat. She demonstrates the agility to navigate with the Goliath issues facing our school system’s needs against the reality of the budget constraining them. She is a tireless advocate with ample experience in adapting to the onslaught of changes we face today, and has in focus what she can do for our schools so that the legacy remains for us all.

Please take time to get to know her in the weeks ahead, and as I have had the time over the many years, I know her as a leader in business, as well as sharing personal time with her amazing family. Donna Karnal will inspire your confidence in her ability to serve in this capacity.

I encourage every resident to vote for Donna Karnal for the BOE on Nov. 5, and keep the bar high for Fairfield.
