Responds to letter writer’s attack on police department

To the Editor:

Once again Mr. Brown has crawled out of the woodwork and is beating his tired old drum. For years, I have read his unfounded criticism of one of the really great police forces in the state.

Chief MacNamara and Lt. Perez are two of the finest professional officers anywhere. Safety tactics, informational leters in the newspapers, an awesome police boat for our protection (at no cost to the town) are just a few of the many great achievements they should be credited with. They work countless hours doing their job, attending numerous public events (neighborhood watch meetings, veteran gatherings, etc…).

The patrol force in our town is outstanding. They really take “Serve and Protect” to heart. They are both professional and compassionate. Criticism, by Mr. Brown, ranging from “cooping” to malfeasance are all unfounded. I suggest that Mr. Brown take the citizen’s police course and see what really happens in patroling our town.

Thank you Fairfield Police Force for all you do to keep all of us citizens safe.
