Town needs to find a way to keep geese off golf course

To the Editor:

Fairfield has some of the most intelligent people living in this town, yet there are some issues which they cannot solve.

Fairfield has a beautiful nine-hole golf course covered with the waste of duck and geese droppings. It is not only unsightly, dirty, but unhealthy.

Why is there is nothing that can be done to cure this issue? There are simple and inexpensive solutions to correct the situation. The only problem is the powers-to-be do not want to change things; they want to keep them as they are. They do not want to change for fear of job losses.

If this were privately owned, there would be no geese on the golf course and the cost of playing there would be considerably less because it would be run more efficiently.

Fairfield golf residents should choose between leasing the golf course to private enterprise or change the bureaucratic management in charge of the golf courses.
