Questions my U.S. needs to go to war with Syria

To the Editor:

We recall Eisenhower’s warning about the dangers of the military/industrial complex.

Eighty five percent of our people want to end our 60 years of playing policeman to the world.

For many years their lies and deceit have forced us into unnecessary unwinnable wars, exhausting our nation’s wealth and strength. They told us a short Korean War would stop Communism. Then we fought in the Vietnam War to stop communism.

We had to send our armies to Afghanistan for being the unfortunate home base a small group of terrorists who created unimaginable havoc and horror with a handful of box cutters.

Now the military/industrial complex leads us like a flock of dazed sheep to another slaughter with the mantra: “A limited and tailored attack against Syria.”

We recognize another military/industrial lie, but where is the power to help us stop them?
