Fairfield resident among St. Vincent’s Volunteers of the Year

Bonnie Lobel of Trumbull, left, and Catherine Broadbin of Fairfield receive congratulations from Director of Volunteers Carol Kuhta, also a Fairfield resident, after being named Volunteers of the Year for St. Vincent’s Medical Center at the annual Recognition Brunch held at the hospital.

St. Vincent’s Medical Center recently honored its volunteers at the annual Recognition Brunch. Volunteers from the medical center, St. Vincent’s Special Needs and St. Vincent’s Westport Campus marked service anniversaries 100 to 4,000 hours, and received their pins and special thanks from President and Chief Executive Officer Susan L. Davis.

“You extend yourselves to our patients, you become their friend, their confidante, their family away from home,” said Carol Kuhta of Fairfield, St. Vincent’s Director of Volunteers, in praising the volunteers. “You make an impression every day that you are here and we all cannot thank you enough.”

This year, the awards were presented to Catherine Broadbin of Fairfield and Bonnie Lobel of Trumbull. St. Vincent’s Special Needs Volunteer of the Year winner was Debra Schaeffer of West Hartford and Leah Walsh of Westport was named St. Vincent’s Westport campus winner.

Those receiving pins included (4,000 hours) Lobel and Georgina Medina of Bridgeport; and (3,000 hours) Bridgeport residents Susan Beninco and Noemi Bufalini and Fairfield residents Jane Barbieri and Susan Zaleski.
