Jack Steed hit a grand slam home run to key a six-run first inning and the Fairfield American 10-11-year-old All-Star team had a 10-4 lead on Berlin when their Section I Little League baseball final was suspended because of lightning with one out and two Fairfield runners on base in the bottom of the third inning on Tuesday night in Milford.
When play resumes tonight at 7 p.m. at Milford National Little League’s Ralph Clarkson Field, District V champion Berlin will have to rally back and win that game, and then defeat Fairfield, the District II champion, in the if game to follow on Thursday.
