Endorses Llewellyn and Liu-McCormack for school board

To the Editor:

Public education in Fairfield needs a boost. Our schools are losing their luster. This is due in part to an atmosphere that has developed in the last few years that discourages parent involvement in our schools.

In addition, relatively flat funding coupled with an increase in state mandates and rising enrollments, especially at the high school level, have made it ever more crucial to scrutinize every dollar spent.

Fortunately, two outstanding Republican candidates for the Board of Education, John Llewellyn and Eileen Liu-McCormack, have stepped forward to offer their impressive and relevant skills and their passion for quality education for all students.

Both have extensive financial experience and have volunteered in our schools. In addition, John has specific knowledge of school finances. We cannot afford to pass up this offer.

Please join me in voting for John Llewellyn and Eileen Liu-McCormack at the Republican caucus on July 23, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Fairfield Ludlowe High School.
