Suspected dealer arrested after lengthy investigation

Fairfield police officers arrested Michael Caratone, 24, of Warren Avenue on various drug-related charges on June 13, following a two-month investigation.

Caratone was suspected of dealing a variety of substances, primarily methamphetamine, outside of Cumberland Farms on King’s Highway.

Upon his arrest, police seized 33 capsules and an estimated 7.5 grams of alleged narcotics. Officers also reportedly located cocaine in the vehicle.

A search of Caratone’s home revealed more drugs and paraphernalia.

After searching his car, Caratone was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of cocaine.

The house was searched on a warrant and led to charges for possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Caratone was released on a promise to appear in court on June 27.
