Fairfield Automatic Transmission defeats Wendy's in classic

Fairfield Automatic Transmission edged Wendy’s Restaurant, 3-2, in Fairfield Jr. Babe Ruth League action the week og May 27-June 2.
Fairfield AT came back in the top of the seventh when Tyler Henchcliffe  drilled a double over the left fielder’s head to score Justin Consoli, and subsequently came around to score.
Defensively, Christian Nilsson made an extraordinary catch in foul territory after a 50-yard run with two on and nobody out that stifled a dangerous bottom of the sixth inning.
Roger Johns made a sliding grab into the dugout fence by first base to catch the final out.
Moore, Consoli, and Henchcliffe combined to hold Wendy’s to four hits and two unearned runs.
Bobby Clark pitched a complete game for Wendy’s, striking out 12 and giving up just two hits and two earned runs.

Fedell’s jumped out to a 6-0 lead, but Fairfield made an effort to get back in the game with four runs in the sixth.
The comeback effort was fueled by a three-run double by Liam Holroyd and timely hits by Sam Ruppert and Justin Schiller.
Defensively, there was a nice play in the outfield by Riley Williams and on the infield by Holroyd.
Fairfield Pal 7, Wilton Blue 6
Offense was provided by Ryan Dowd, Patrick McGrath and Daniel Wolfeiler all with one RBI and Michael Bourque with two.
Dairy Queen 9,  Wilton Blue 6
Keean DeJordy’s pitching held Wilton to two runs in three innings and Paul Jeon pitched two scoreless innings to close.
Keean Dejordy, Paul Jeon and Connor Bennett hit doubles and John Neibus hit a triple.
McGoldrick Fuel 11,
Bridgeport Caribe1 4
Connor O’Donnell pitched a gem, allowing no runs and no hits over four innings in Fuels’ win.
Tallman Builders 16,
Bridgeport Caribe2 8
Ben Menkes and Tom Taylor both went 3-for-3 at the plate and both hit doubles. Together they scored five of Tallman’s 16 runs.
Tallman Builders 12,
Westport Pal Black 2
Nick Yee hit a home run in the fourth with two men on. Tom Taylor pitched a no-hitter.
Wendy’s Restaurant 12,
McGoldrick Fuel 2
Jack Dowden and Dominick Conte pitched well, limiting the offense of McGoldrick to just two runs.
Tyler Petry and Brian Damp had two hits each and Elias Weglarz scored two runs.
Bobby Clark had a triple.
Wendy’s Restaurant 14, Bridgeport Caribe3 1
Gary Walsh had two doubles and Bobby Clark a triple with multiple hits coming from Tyler Petry, Brian Damp, Jack Dowden and Dominick Conte.
Damp was solid on the mound as well as Conte.
Wendy’s Restaurant 16, Westport Pal Black 0
Tyler Petry pitched well throwing a one-hitter and Bian Damp closed it out in the final inning.
Joey Ambury had two hits two RBIs and scored two runs.
Quinn Barry led the 19-hit attack with three. Greg Nevins,  Zac Day, Damp, Elias Weglarz, Dom Conte and Petry each contributed base hits.
Wendy’s Restaurant 15, Tallman Builders 3
Bobby Clark pitched outstanding, allowing no runs through six innings.
Joey Ambury had a nice hit up the middle. Zac Day, Dom Conte, Bobby Clarkand Jack Dowden provided all the offense needed.
