Fire damaged at strip mall at 1500 Black Rock Turnpike early Friday, June 14.

Stores in the building include Carpet City, Pizza Mediterranean, Eren’s Grill Mediterranean Cuisine, Michele Anthony’s Hair Salon and Beans and Leaves Cigar and Hookah Lounge.

Fairfield Firefighters tweeted and posted on Facebook that it was at a fire at the mall around 6 a.m. Friday. That was soon followed by updates indicating it was an all-hands fire and that mutual aid had been called to cover town, then that the fire had been knocked down.

Around 8 a.m. a fire marshal was still at the scene investigating, and store owners were arriving to check their businesses. The doors to Eren’s Grill were propped open.

More details will be posted as they become available.
