Obituary: Ann (Senchak) Parry, 83, of Fairfield

Fairfield-OBT-parryAnn (Senchak) Parry, age 83 of Fairfield, the beloved wife of Raymond W. Parry, who was a former science teacher and coach at New Canaan High School, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013.

She was born in Bridgeport to the late John and Anna (Swatt) Senchak and was a lifelong resident.

Ann was a remarkable homemaker and always involved in her children’s schooling and functions. She was a room mother at Riverfield Elementary School and an Assistant Den Mother with the Cub Scouts. In addition, she often assisted the Marching Band for their events.

She was a big supporter of the Fairfield Fire Department and was their primary “blueberry pie maker”. She loved to travel, cook and entertain, especially on Christmas Eve and St. Patrick’s Day. Ann had an amazing ability to stay connected to her family even being miles apart from some.

She is survived by her loving children: sons, Kevin Parry and his wife, Calle Bailey of Brattleboro, VT and Timothy Parry and his wife, Ursula of Bridgeport; her daughters, Deborah Liptak and her husband, Steve of Fort Worth, TX and Maura Cain and her husband, John of Tuscaloosa, AL. She will also be missed by her cherished grandchildren, Adriane Lovern and her husband, Kenny, Audrey and Jonathan Liptak all of Fort Worth, TX, SGT. Matthew Parry of the United States Army, Jeffrey Parry of Fairfield, Julia and Anna Cain of Tuscaloosa, AL and William Parry of Bridgeport; and great-granddaughters, Eve and Cassie Fedorovich; as well as her sister, Helen Stochmal of Bridgeport; and dear family friend, Tom Grega of Fairfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Parry; siblings, John and Frank Senchak and Frances King; granddaughter, Melissa Pinion and great-granddaughter, Ashley Jo Robinson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10 a.m. directly as St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Thursday, May 23rd from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center.
