Yom Kippur service on WVOF Sept. 25

Congregation B’nai Israel in Bridgeport will broadcast its Kol Nidre Yom Kippur service in cooperation with Fairfield University on WVOF 88.5 FM on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m.

The Yom Kippur WVOF broadcast, featuring the chanting of the Kol Nidre prayer by B’nai Israel’s Cantor Sheri Blum, can also be heard at the same time online at wvof.org

Fairfield University Art History Professor Philip Eliasoph and B’nai Israel President Mindy Siegel will share background commentary about the Jewish High Holy Days on the air before worship services begin at 6:30 p.m. sharp.

Congregation B’nai Israel is a member of the Reform Judaism movement. It serves more than 800 households in Fairfield, Easton, Stratford, Trumbull, Monroe, Shelton and Bridgeport.

High Holy Day services will take place at the synagogue at 2710 Park Ave., Bridgeport.
