President, Congress responsible for ‘economic slide’

To the Editor:

Since big business sold off our industrial and manufacturing jobs, our economy has been suffering for years.

Rather than offer plans to solve the problem, Congress issues regular  reports that “the economy is slowly  improving.” Improving for billionaires, millionaires, senators and representatives who are filling their pockets with kickbacks and insider trading loot. That’s the tip of the problem.

Uncle Sam has borrowed $16 trillion to support 60 years of war, waste, foreign giveaways, unemployment, etc. Partly due to the greedy sell-off of U.S. jobs, 20 million workers who once supported the government now require unemployment checks to survive.

To throw gasoline on the problem, our government is now considering giving citizenship to  between 11 and 20 million illegal immigrants — men who remained illegally in our country and are adding to our jobless problem by working for less “in the shadow of the law tax free.”

The president and Congress are responsible for concentrating the nation’s prompt, full attention and massive planning to stop this economic, suicidal slide.
