O’Neill a Junior Olympic qualifier

Jennifer O’Neill qualified for USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Level 9 Eastern National Team on Saturday, April 13 at the Level 9 Regional Gymnastics Championships at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, MA.
The highest state-ranked Level 9 gymnasts from the Northeast region competed for the top six places to build out the National team.
The states represented were Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, and New York.
O’Neill placed 4th all-around for the region with a score of 35.65. She was the balance beam champion with a 9.1, and also placed 3rd on vault with a 9.1, earned a 9.1 on floor exercise and an 8.35 on bars.
This win qualifies O’Neill to represent Region VI at the Junior Olympic Level 9 Eastern National Championships in Battle Creek, Michigan in May.
O’Neill trains five days a week at Next Dimension Gymnastics in Trumbull. She is a freshman at Fairfield Ludlowe High School.
