Answers needed in regards to economy

To the Editor:

Why are highly intelligent, well educated men and woman of our nation. Political leaders, economists, college professors, television moderators, newspaper editors, experienced business people, all appear completely confused and bewildered by our nation’s irrevocable plunge into an ocean of $11 trillion debt.

Certainly, there must be capable people in our nation with a solution to the disappearance of our middle class and growing unemployment lines. Our government ignores the problem and assures us our economy is improving.

When our merchants began importing thousands of low cost, untaxed Chinese products, our problem began. As Chinese products flooded our market’s factories, corporations sold out to the Chinese or went into bankruptcy, resulting in millions of Americans losing their jobs.

While the U.S, invested trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousand dead and wounded, the Chinese government found itself destroying American life in a non-military, highly profitable economic war and invested billions of dollars buying American brands and thousands of acres of American land— the land our young men are shipped overseas to protect and defend.

Our government must unite our people to win the peace as they unite us to win wars. Taxing foreign imports will slow them down while we rebuild. If our government wants to save itself it must save the middle class workers.
