Curiale School students participate a sack race during Spring into Action Activity Day on April 13. The event was hosted by the Student United Way at Fairfield University.

Students in kindergarten through fourth grades from Curiale School in Bridgeport, one of United Way of Coastal Fairfield County’s Schools of Hope,  jumped into the Spring Into Action Activity Day on April 13.

The Student United Way from Fairfield University hosted the event and brought volunteers from the Fairfield University men’s and women’s basketball teams, cheer squad and members from the coaching staff.

They planned a morning of fun activities and healthy snacks, including hula hooping, three-legged races, basketball, jump rope, sack races, soccer drills, hopscotch and ring toss.

The event was coordinated with the help of Student United Way advisor Roy Brown, current Student United Way president Mary Alice Limperopulos,   incoming Student United Way president Margaret Siu, Curiale Principal Brett Gustafson and Assistant Principal Herminio Planas.
