Bridgeport man arrested for trespassing on Fairfield property

Fairfield-riveraA resident of Buena Vista Road called to report a trespasser on his property on April 11, at 9:48 a.m.

Philip Rivera, 27, of 292 Bunnell St., Bridgeport, was arrested for third-degree criminal trespass and Interfering with an officer after he entered a fenced property and attempted to run from the police during questioning.

The resident reported that a Hispanic male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and baggy jeans just pounded on his front door. The male then walked into his fenced in backyard and knocked on the back door. The male then walked from the backyard to an older green vehicle with no hub cabs.

Officers located the same vehicle, a green, four-door 2000 Toyota Corolla  with Connecticut registration 399-ZDM, parked at Stratfield Center less than two-tenths of a mile away from Buena Vista Road. It was occupied by Rivera and a female companion.

After a brief interview, officers determined Rivera had no valid reason for being on the resident’s property. Rivera attempted to flee on foot and officers took him into custody without incident. The complainant requested Rivera’s arrest and gave officers a statement describing the events.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Rivera was arrested, taken to headquarters and given a court date of April 19.

Rivera has numerous arrests for similar crimes and investigators are looking into his possible involvement in recent Fairfield crimes.
