Tools stolen from Villa Avenue job site

A contractor working on a Villa Avenue home told Fairfield police he thinks he knows who kicked open the back door and stole $5,000 worth of tools and materials.

Neighbors reported seeing a beat up black or dark gray two door car pull slowly into the driveway around 3:30 on April 3, when police believe the theft occurred.

The contractor had seen the items securely locked up less than two hours before that. Given the description of the car, he thinks he knows who the suspect is.

Police are investigating.
