Town holds food drive

Fairfield will hold a townwide food drive at Fairfield Ludlowe High School on Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to non-perishable food items, gift cards to Stop & Shop or Shop Rite and financial donations are also accepted. People may also contribute to one of many pre-collection sites around town, including churches, synagogues, clubs and civic organizations. To volunteer for the event, visit the sign-up…

Recycle old prescription drugs

Fairfield will recognize National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day with a drop-off location in the lobby of the Fairfield Police Department on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a box for any expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs. Event commemorates Holocaust

U.S. Director of the Auschwitz Jewish Center Shiri B. Sandler will serve as the keynote speaker at Fairfield’s 31st annual Holocaust Commemoration at First Church Congregational on Wednesday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. The event will also include musical selections by the Fairfield County Children’s Choir and Fairfield Warde High School Ensemble, a candle lighting ceremony and a reception. Admission is free; contributions are welcome. All proceeds benefit the Auschwitz Jewish Center in Poland.
