Quick Center season starts Sept. 19

Fairfield University raises the curtain on the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts’ new season with Broadway’s Next Hit Musical on Friday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. Musical is an award-winning unscripted show performed by a troupe of New York City-based actors who collect suggested hit song ideas from the audience and then present an improvised musical. Program focuses on dog training

Trap Falls Kennel Club presents “Issues of the Day: Woof! Doggie Etiquette, Training and Behavior” at Pequot Library on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. to noon. First Church is sponsoring a Day of Service on Sunday, Sept. 21, beginning with a kick-off dedication in the parking lot at 9 a.m. The day will conclude with a barbecue dinner and interfaith prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Nearly two dozen projects are outlined, requiring various skill levels, for adults and children, including painting, minor home repairs, rebuilding kayak racks, installing a brick patio and cooking. Walk Like MADD to Eliminate Drunk Driving will take place Saturday, Oct. 25. The signature walk of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, is a community-driven 5K event that raises funds and saves lives.
