Safe trick-or-treating returns to town

The Kiwanis Club of Fairfield sponsors the return of Trick-or-Treat on Safety Street on Friday, Oct. 31, from 2 to 5 p.m. The event is open to all Fairfield children up through elementary school who dress up. Participating merchants will offer treats and display an orange Trick-or-Treat on Safety Street poster in their windows. It will take place from First Niagara Bank at Thorpe Street to Morgan-Stanley at the Brick Walk. The Kiwanis Club will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs…

Fire department hosts open house

The Southport Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual open house on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include live demonstrations through the day, as well as equipment on display. The Fairfield Fire Department’s Fire Safety Trailer will be available for children to practice what to do during a fire. The Connecticut State Police will also be demonstrating the importance of wearing seat belts with a rollover simulator.

Audubon hosts animal election

While residents go to the polls, the animals at the Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield are flapping wings and pressing paws hoping to win the Center’s annual animal election Tuesday, Nov. 4, 11-2, CT Audubon Society, Center at Fairfield, 2325 Burr Street. Dinner event fights homelessness

Chip’s family Restaurant of Fairfield will host the “Breakfast at Dinner” fundraiser to help combat homelessness on Monday, Nov. 10. The event offers three seating options: 5 to 6 p.m., 6 to 7 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and includes two pancakes, two eggs, a choice of sausage or bacon, tea or coffee and water.
