Kitchen fire at restaurant causes evacuation

On May 19, at 9:32 p.m., the Fairfield Fire Department received a 911 report of a building fire at the S&S Dugout located at 3449 Post Road.


Residents may enroll in the Yellow Dot Program

Representatives of People’s Bank and the Fairfield Police Department will be at the Fairfield Senior Center, 100 Mona Terrace on Thursday, May 21, to enroll people in the town’s Yellow Dot Program.


Fairfield firefighters help save home on Pine Creek Avenue

According to Chief Gomola “One of the dangers faced by firefighters in this fire was the storage of propane cylinders and gas cans stored under the building and encountered during the fire attack.”

EnCon K-9 unit Labrador Retriever “Saydee” with two striped bass she detected. The fish were under the minimum length requirement leading to two Bridgeport anglers being cited for violations while fishing Friday evening on the Housatonic River in Milford.

EnCon dog detects illegal possession of fish

“Saydee” is one of three canines from the EnCon K-9 unit that received special training in fish detection to assist in the detection of fishing violations.
