Ice menorah carving Sunday on Sherman Green

The public is invited to the lighting of an ice menorah on Sherman Green on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m. Starting at 3:30 p.m., a team of ice sculptors will use chainsaws and carving tools to carve blocks of ice into a six-foot menorah. The event also will feature holiday refreshments, music and dancing.

Chanukah celebration Dec. 20

The Men’s Club and the Sisterhood of Congregation Ahavath Achim are holding a special family Chanukah celebration on Saturday, Dec. 6, starting at 7 p.m. at the synagogue, 1571 Stratfield Road.
