The Connecticut Dance School will present “Dances to Celebrate Spring” at the Westport Country Playhouse on Friday, March 15, at 7 p.m.
Donations accepted at the door support their Scholarship fund and community outreach programs.
Alan Woodard, the school’s director presents his “Faust Suite” to the music of Charles Gounod, with dancers from the top level ballet classes at Connecticut Dance School.
Ballet mistress Moira Murphy Wright brings three new dances to the stage with the music of Samuel Barber, Sergey Prokofiev and Carl Nielsen.
Rounding out the program with modern and jazz, Valerie Pullman uses Evelyn Glennie percussion while Emily Frangipane has her dancers moving to Sara Bareilles’ “Gravity.”
The performance will be followed by a reception and silent auction.
