The Fairfield Prep basketball team earned a berth in the SCC semifinals with a 68-59 victory over Career High of New Haven in Branford on Saturday.
The top-seeded Jesuits (20-1) will meet third-seeded Wilbur Cross (18-3) in Monday’s semifinal at East Haven High at 6 p.m.
The Governors defeated sixth-seeded Xavier of Midletown (13-8) in two overtimes, 75-71.
Second-seeded Hillhouse (20-1) defeated seventh-seeded Cheshire High, 71-52, and fourth-seeded Notre Dame of West Haven (15-5) topped fifth seeded Amity of Woodbridge, 60-53 in overtime, in the other quarterfinal contests.
Prep (20-1) took a 34-29 lead over Career (13-8) at the half.
Paschal Chukwu scored 21 points, Thomas Nolan 13, Tim Butala and Dave Zielinski 10 each, and Ryan Foley had eight markers.
