Allen, 4×800 relay team earn state titles

Fairfield Warde’s Cate Allen added the 1,600-meter run state title to her resume at the Class L indoor track and field championships in New Haven on Feb. 15.
Allen ran a 5:08.81 to better the field, and Warde finished fourth overall in the team competition won by Darien High.
Katie Tangney, Allen, Paige Hanley and Caroline Keough took first in the 4×800 relay with a time of 9:50.73.
Hanley, Hannah Dougherty, Allen and Lia Joham finished third in the 4×400 relay with a time of 4:20.57.
Keough was fourth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:36.38.
Blossom Jean-Jaques, Nicole Ciccarelli, Lauren Levine and Dougherty took fifth in the 1,600 sprint medley in 4:37.60.
Joham, Ciccarelli, Amy Rosten and Jean-Jaques were sixth in the 4×200 relay in 1:52.35.
Emily O’Keefe from Fairfield Ludlowe placed fourth in the high jump at 4-10 at the Class LL championships in New Haven on Saturday.
