Matt Ruben top USTA official

USTA New England (United States Tennis Association)  has announced the winners of the 2012 Section Awards, and the top USTA official for either professional or amateur events is Matt Ruben of Fairfield.
The winners will be paid tribute to at an 11:30 a.m. awards luncheon on Saturday, March 2 at the Marlborough Courtyard by Marriott in Marlborough, Mass.
All together, 30 USTA New England players, coaches, officials, clubs and volunteers who have been exemplary ambassadors for the tennis community in 2012 will be recognized.
“We take great pride in our ability to reward our dedicated players, coaches, organizations and volunteers for their contributions and heroics to the game of tennis in New England year after year,” USTA New England President, Gary Pina said.
“It’s our special way to say thank you for all that these amazing individuals and organizations do to support our mission:To Promote and Develop the Growth of Tennis.”
The ceremony will also recognize 41 long-time volunteers, measured by five-year intervals, for their commitment and service.
