Warde-Ludlowe come together

Fairfield’s Ludlowe and Warde High Schools are used to competing against each other, and on Tuesday, Jan. 29 will join together to take on a more formidable opponent — cancer — in a  Coaches vs. Cancer doubleheader to benefit the American Cancer Society at Ludlowe High.
The girls teams will take to the court at 6 p.m, with the boys game to follow.
Coaches Brian Silvestro, Sarah Huntington, Ryan Swaller and David Danko and their teams will take part in the National Suits and Sneakers Awareness campaign, a nationwide annual event in which coaches across the country unite to fight cancer.
Coaches and their staff will wear sneakers with their game suits to raise awareness about the fight against cancer, share the importance of nutrition and physical activity in reducing one’s risk for the disease, and promote the American Cancer Society as a place for people facing cancer to turn to for free information, help and support.
At the twin bill, fans will have an opportunity to take part in fund-raising activities that will benefit the life-saving work of the American Cancer Society and its Coaches vs. Cancer initiative.
Fans are encouraged to dress up for the game and prizes will be awarded to the Best Dressed male and female wearing sneakers.
For more information on the game or to donate, contact Kelly Stewart: kelly.stewart@cancer.org or call 203.563.1530.
