Dan Upchurch scored a game-high 27 points, including 19 in the first half, fueling host Notre Dame-Fairfield’s 73-51 win over Masuk High at Sister Marion Rielly Auditorium on Monday night.
The Lancers led wire-to-wire, but the Panthers (3-6) pulled within 28-19 on a 3-pointer from Patrick Cheever with 4:01 left to play in the second quarter.
Notre Dame (6-3) then closed the half on an 11-2 run, taking a 39-21 advantage into the break. From there, ND led by double digits for the remainder of the game.
Earl Coleman added 18 points and eight rebounds for the Lancers, while Jaylen Jennings chipped in with 10 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots.
Dominic Migliaro scored a team-high 13 points for Masuk and sophomore David Clarke had 12 off the bench. Cheever netted eight points.
